I'M IN TOKYO!!!!!!

Um.... Yeah... I'M IN TOKYO!!!!!

We are all currently jetlagged as hell... as i update this it's 1:30ish in the morning and everyone is wandering around doing stunned goldfish impressions and saying "wha..?" alot.

The trip to Heathrow was fairly uneventful. Some traffic meant we were a little later than we planned to be, but not worryingly so, as we'd given ourselves the maximum possible amount of time to get there anyway.

the lounge was nice. We had Champagne and Sushi & sat in comfy chairs and watched the planes go by out of the window. There was a massive 3d tv there, which we sat by, letting it pleasently fuck with our brains for a while before we boarded the plane.

The upper class area on the plane was quite cool. We had a little cubicle each with a big very comfortable leather chair and a little one for a visitor. A table popped up in between these two chairs that was big enough for two people to share dinner. there was a little side table for your drink and the seat folded down to come together with the visitor's seat and make a fairly serviceable bed. The best thing about these cubicles though was the in flight entertainment system. We had a monitor that came out on a little arm with a controller (which also doubled as a phone - complete with a credit card reader slot!!)
On this we could watch TV programs such as Spaced, Little Britain or Lost (?!?) (Lost came with a warning as the series is set around an aircraft crash) Movies such as Constantine, Kung-Fu hustle or It's All Gone Pete Tong. There was also a games section where you could play Tetris, Pong, Space invaders, and MULTIPLAYER games against the rest of the plane! Chess, battleships, battlemail kung-fu! There were talking books too, Language ones for Japanese, Spanish.

More later when my brain's not mush.. :D

Wow, I thought getting first class train tickets up to Scotland was posh, your flight sounds almost tempting, though on balance I'd probably still prefer to take a couple of months and sail.

Enjoy Tokyo, my sister spent nine months living in Japan and found it very cool.

Ooooh...now I've been on flights with game consoles before, but they never had multiplayer games. That sounds like a damn fine idea. It'd be awesome if they could have a private Halo 2 server per plane, although they really need to sort out bots cos that is the one thing the Halo games lack.
