Today is the first day since i had The Extraction that i've woken up reasonably pain free and in a Good Mood™ I developed an infection at the extraction site and have been like the proverbial bear who {mysteriously, some would say} has a {permanent?!} sore head. Maybe said bear needs to change his hobbies to something less abusive to the skull :p
The lovely Dr. Thomas {who, annoyingly, doesn't have his photo on the practice website} prescribed me some Amoxicilin 500 which i'm on my 4th day of now. He recommended codeine based painkillers so i have some of each of Ibuprofen + Codeine and Paracetamol + Codeine. 2 of the Ibuprofen then 4/6 hrs later 2 of the Paracetamol then 4/6 hrs later 2 Ibuprofen ect.. dealt with the pain really quite well. I didn't expect to be able to be Pain Free™ but this combination certainly took more of it away than i was expecting. Now i'm able to wait an easy, relaxed 5 or 6 hours between doses, which is a far nicer state to be in than the frenzied 'Counting Down Of The Seconds' that usually accompanies an infection of the ear, nose, throat area.
Tomorrow it's Andrew's Birthday. He will be SIX!!! Andrew, being slightly too machiavellian for his own good already, has cottened on to the fact that his birthday is five days before christmas. And has announced to the world that for his Birthday he wants a RoboRaptor, and for Christmas, a RoboSapien. Of course, we are powerless to resist the Cuteness factor, so, thanks to the very kind & generous
At first i was reluctant about getting such obviously big presents that will probably dwarf anything else.
Upon reflection though...
A. I'm their Mummy, which means it's actually ok for me to buy them the biggest presents. This is something i was having trouble seeing right up until a couple of days ago.
B. For a long time i couldn't afford to buy them anything remarkably special, which tore me up horrendously. But now, thanks to the Gorgeous and very wonderful relationship i'm in with Orion, who is the most genuinely kindest and loving man i've ever met, i CAN afford to buy them things they will still play with in a year's time. (i'm still hearing about the toys we bought for them last year *Smile*) Or, like this year, toys that will grow with them, and won't be too young for them two or three years down the line.
Whilst Andrew had been carefully plotting his presents Daniel couldn't think of anything he really wanted. So, of course, the only possible solution to this conundrum was quite astonishingly simple. We took him to Toys R Us. After some careful deliberation and much umming and ahhing he picked out 4 very cool looking fantastic 4 branded toys, The Thing Hands, The Thing Hot Rod Car, The Thing Muscle Costume and a Human Torch dress up set too. The Fantastic 4 theme was probably inspired by us buying him the DVD the last time they were over.
There's something else i'm thinking of getting him too, which i won't say too much about incase it doesn't happen. We are VERY close to christmas now, after all.
